PGA Star Tees It Up for SBACS
PGA golfer Lee Janzen and his wife Bev did tee one up for SBACS, but not on the velvety fairways at Lee’s native habitat, the golf club. Instead, Lee and Bev hosted a Dessert Fellowship in their Orlando home to benefit SBACS. In a letter to friends and potential supporters, the Janzens wrote, “Baptists have a long history of support for colleges, missions, disaster relief and many other causes around the world, but we were surprised to learn that less than 1.5% of our nearly 43,000 churches sponsor schools...Meanwhile, over 90% of our church youth are being educated in a now nearly totally secularized school system. As a result, researchers like George Barna and Josh McDowell are reporting that as high as 90% of our youth leave the church within a few years of graduating from high school, because they don’t see their faith as being relevant to their lives…It is time for a change.”
Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools is "...uniting home, church and school in Jesus Christ."
